Your Participation in COVID Research is Important
COVID research shows what works to prevent the spread of COVID and reduce the number of deaths it causes. We are trying to document how our community has been affected by COVID and by the social and economic shutdowns the virus has caused. If the participants in COVID research studies do not reflect the diversity of our population, we may not learn how COVID vaccines, treatments, and policies work differently for different groups of people. Studies with diverse samples of participants have sometimes found differences in how men and women respond to particular treatments or therapies or how different racial groups can benefit in different ways.
